History
:  Considered by many as one of the music industries most talented young Mixer/Engineers, Warren Riker has been honing his skills in the studio since he was 15 years old.

Riker has come a long way since then, collecting 3 Grammy Awards for work with The Fugees, Lauryn Hill and Santana. He has reproduced, recorded and mixed tracks for artists including Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin through to Down and Run DMC. Though most of his work has been in Urban genres, Warren’s passion and dedication to Rock music finds him busy working with more rock based projects than ever before. Who knows, you might just hear him record a Martyrs and Poets track in the future !

Based in New Jersey, he is musically proficient and a multi-instrumentalist with extensive knowledge in the areas of Pro-Tools and analog recording techniques. Warren works on a wide variety of consoles and equipment when in the studio.

Since having worked with some of the biggest producers in the world, Warren has turned his attention to Producing artists in between taking down Mixes from some of the worlds brightest stars.

" From the Top"

1. What advice can you give up and coming artists as far as the importance of being prepared before going to a studio to record ?

Unless you like wasting a lot of money, you better be prepared and know exactly what you want to accomplish. Time flies fast when your in the cave ( the studio ), and what you think will take a few minutes to record could possibly turn into an all day issue when you are prepared. I wouldn't suggest putting any rules on the day, but at least have an outline of what you expect to accomplish, and give it your best shot.

2. What advice can you give young artists about promoting themselves ?
In today's world letting your music speak for itself solely doesn't work anymore ..(UNFORTUNATELY) major labels aren't into developing their artists as they have been in the past, so if your not doing everything you can do to get your project buzzing, you won't have any weight when it comes time to landing a deal. Whether it's playing for free at a neighbors keg party or playing at Madison Square Garden, you have to be out there. It may be like NO SLEEP NONSTOP FOR DAYS  in the studio, hooking up with new producers , writers, engineers, artists, finding web site development, and pressing and selling your own cd's and dvd's...... It's not even an option !

Special thanks to Warren's Riker for his contribution to knowledge, wisdom, and guidance....

What Warren Riker is saying when he says " it's not even an option " means, there is a lot more for you to do as an artist in any form of entertainment to get ahead, verses 10 years ago. Promoting yourself is no longer an option, it is a must if you want to get ahead. You know the word promotion, and you hear it all the time, but what does it really mean to get a head start on promoting yourself ? Well that is what the next chapter is for, with a few really cool people to help me give it to you ! ( hypothetical situation to learn from ) Let's say your a musician in a local band in San Diego, and you want to know where you can take your talent ? you can start to promote yourself and here is a new friend of mine to explain to you what you can do !

It wasn't until MP3's enhanced promotions on the internet due to space requirements, that on line services flourished as well.
