Being a Responsible Artist

Making It in entertainment is driven by motive. Motive comes from your
encounters with the entertainment world. Once you have a solid motive, your love
for the entertainment business will show. Since age has no place in the
entertainment world, there is one common denominator that will help you succeed
in this crazy world. Be responsible for everything you say and do, in every way,
shape, and form. As you grow responsibly, your goals will form easier and more
credible with the people around you. Yes, I said goals, not dreams ............
This is when when responsibility starts to equal credibility.
The very start to making it in entertainment, art, fashion, film, tv,
radio, modeling, singing, etc.... is to have a goal, know where your headed,
and to make plans on how to get there. Instead of calling these aspirations
"dreams", I like to call them "goals"... A dream is
some-what far-fetched to people that hear you tell them, but setting a GOAL,
that is saying, this is what I AM GOING TO DO......
You will see in
the first few pages that having a goal and asking questions to learn your way is step one. I
can only hope that your final goal is to be a responsible artist. This might
even help you along the way as you make important decisions. Being smart and
responsible is to use the
gifts you have been given in a positive way to reach out to others like yourself
to be a positive role model. Therefore, I start my book out with the most
important message to young up and coming artists:
Grow into a positive
responsible artist for younger up and coming talent to look up to... ALWAYS.
Whatever
you do from this day forward, make sure your decisions reflect a positive value
to our world. That
is how you grow into being a positive artist. Some say art depicts life, others
say life depicts art, in either case you have to manipulate both to be
successful, so use that gift responsibly.
Being an artist is a reflection of everything you are to the world. If you are always seeking to be responsible and positive, you will always be headed in the right direction. If that is your goal, you will be successful in everything you set out to do. You will be faced with a lot of major decisions as you grow into the art form you choose. Plan carefully as you grow, think about each decision you make, part you take, performance you agree to give, picture you accept to paint, story you agree to edit, etc..........
Whether your future is writing, speaking, singing, modeling, acting, producing,
dancing, designing, managing, or just being support for someone in the
entertainment business, being responsible is the return for the gift you were
given. Face it, the artistic trait that separates you from anyone else is a gift
you have been given. If you hold a gift of artistic nature, you are
looked up to. If you sing, you know people take notice. Whether you like it or
not, you are a role model to young up and coming talent . If you use the gift
correctly and practice positive reinforcement with what you do to achieve your
dream, you will be that much closer in mind, body, and spirit. Page 1 of this
book is dedicated to you as a reader wanting to learn. I only ask that as you
grow in your art form, you constantly strive for ways to help others like
yourself. We all know how much impact artists have on society, a painter can
paint a mural on the side of the highway and change someone's view of a rainy
day on the way to work. I was lucky enough to be gifted to speak in public, to
talk on the radio, to write music with a band, and to write this book for you.
In return for the gifts given, I want to give back to young up and coming talent
to be able to do the same thing. That is what this special feature is for. I
hope you learn something valuable and priceless from the people that are going
