If your a dancer, be out in the clubs, at dances, and even at
concerts.... Remember, you never know who's out there looking for your talent !
If your a painter or graphic design, give your work out to prominent people. EX:
When I was living in Florida, I used to go to this restaurant in Northern Miami
that served the best Mexican food in Florida! ( plug ) called Baja Cafe. One of my roommates was an
artist that did some awesome painting work. We took three of his pieces and
donated them to the restaurant to hang inside. He ended up gaining 12 clients by
having his signature and number on the bottom of one of his paintings. By the
way, always leave your name and number on the bottom of each one of your works,
just a signature won't do.
If you are a singer, enter contests and bring your friends to support, try out
for American Idol ! All i can say about singing is that you need to be out there
all the time. Sing for talent contests at school, and every time your school
puts on a function, have something prepared.
If you are a musician not in a band, make a video of your work, and make 20
VHS copies... go to every recording studio near you and give them to the head
engineer, and let him or her know that you are available for any studio session
that might pop up. This is good because you never know who will see that tape
and want to have you play on there album. Another form of word of mouth is
almost a given for someone like David Grohl, former member of Nirvana, and
producer extraordinaire for the Foo Fighters, and now you can see how word of
mouth impacts people.
