The Top 10 Girls

Let's start where the night ended, with what I call, one of the better performances........ Asia'h Epperson ( from Missourri ) ended the night with "All by Myself." Randy said, "You did a really good job with it." Paula kept it simple, she thought it was great. Simon says...... "You have to be one heck of a singer to pull that off and you are not. You almost got away with it."

Carly Smithson ( all tattoo ) did it up with  "Crazy on You." Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul both praised her for hitting the high notes. Simon Cowell said it was "a much better performance than last week. I still don't think you have connected or chosen the right song. I don't think these other girls can touch you."

Syesha Mercado sang the 70's song, "Me and Mister Jones." Randy said, "I don't think it was a great song choice." Paula said she fell off pitch. Simon says........., "I was put off as soon as you started."   ( not so good there girl ) 

Brooke White had the performance fo the night with  "You're So Vain." Randy said, "Great song choice for you, but I don't think you brought anything different to it." Paula's remark, "I like what you brought to it." Simon says, "I loved it. Perfect song for you."

Ramiele Malubay worked the song  "Don't Leave Me This Way!" Randy said, "This was a little rough." Paula said, "I won't remember this performance." Simon said, "I thought you were much better last week."   OUCH ! 

Kristy Lee Cook  performed the 70's wonder song  "You're No Good." Randy said, "It was pretty in tune." Paula said, "Good song choice for you." Simon says, "I just don't know how to label you yet. If you went country, you would find it quite easier to make a statement." 

Amanda Overmyer did it up with  "Carry on Wayward Son." Randy said, "For me it wasn't the right song for you. Way too much melody." Paula said, "This was not the right song for you." Simon slammed her. "Everything felt contrived. Nothing felt natural or real. You are in your own little world with an ugly song."

Alaina Whitaker  took a shot at  "Hopelessly Devoted to You." Randy's favorite saying, "The verses were pitchy. Not my favorite for you." Paula said she "did a real good job." Simon said, "I like you, my problem is that it's like your grandma prepared you for this. It is very old fashioned. It was a bit pageanty. I think you are one of the dark horses though in the competition."  ehhh isn't that where the 70's lie ????

Alexandrea Lushington did it good  "If You Leave Me Now." Randy said her song choice was too safe. Paula was "very impressed." Simon says...., "I think you are struggling right now. There is nothing you can do with that song. You were in tune and out of tune and it was boring." DAMN ! 

Kady Malloy did it quality and one of my favorites......"Magic Man." Randy said, "You never quite found it for me." Paula said, "When you powered you sounded great and on the low notes you lost it." Simon said, "I am struggling. I am frustrated. Everything on film is fantastic but you come out here and it doesn't go anywhere."

There are 3 girls that could get canned, Brook won't be one of them. 

The Top 10 Men 

Michael Johns kicked off the show with .... "Go Your Own Way." Randy Jackson said, "Nice way to start. I don't know if it was your best." Paula Abdul agreed that it started the show nicely, and said, "You are a seasoned performer." Simon Cowell said, "It was okay but it was by far your weakest performance. It was a very weak choice of song for you."

Jason Castro sang "I Just Want to Be Your Everything." Randy said, "With the guitar it is all cool as an act, but as a vocalist the vocals weren't that good." Paula said, "Next week I would like to see you without the guitar." Simon said, "I thought the song was horrible. It didn't suit your voice. It didn't go together this week."

Luke Menard does it up...... "Killer Queen." Randy heard some pitch problems. Paula said, "Perfect song. Great week for you." Simon slammed him. "I think it was a mistake. You didn't have charisma or personality."

Robbie Carrico sang the track..... "Hot Blooded." Randy and Paula gave it fair marks. Simon said, "I guess I am just not in the mood tonight. Hated this performance too, but Robbie won't be going anywhere."

Danny Noriega did it up BIG....... with "Superstar." Randy heard some serious vocal problems. Paula said she thought he was over thinking ??? whatever that means..... Simon said it was "better than last week. It wasn't a fantastic vocal though. You look terrific on camera."

David Hernandez did a rendition of "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone." Randy said it was "hot." Paula gave it thumbs upper "every note in the pocket." Simon went on and said, "That was the best vocal of the night so far."

Jason Yeager did it up with  "Long Train Runnin.'" Randy said...... "very pitchy." Paula acted on Randy's comments......said the "song doesn't show your vocal range." Simon said it the best when he said it "was weak was awkward and ordinary."  <--- my pick as to who might get the boo t.......

Chikezie Eze, who was called hideous last week.......well he did it up with  "I Believe to My Soul." Randy said, "Chikezie is back. This is the guy we fell in love with. That was blazing, that was hot." Paula backed up Randy and said it was "brilliant and fun." Simon said, "You look better, you sounded better. It was a million times better than last week."

David Cook rocked out with a guitar...........  "All Right Now." Randy  makes his statement........, "To me, you are the real rocker this year." Paula  goes on to call him  "the real deal." Simon says...., "It was solid, it was believable."

David Archuleta  had the perfrmance of th enight to me... he did it real super big with  "Imagine."  Randy's remark......."Dawg, that was one of the best vocals I have heard on this show." Paula  says with a smile and excitement as if he won the whole deal......, "That was one of the most moving performances I have ever heard." Simon says, "Very risky but it worked. You are the one to beat." 

My pick is that Jason and Luke will get the boot
